Today, with the advancement of digitalization and materials, our work has become much simpler and more productive than 15 years ago. At the same time, I feel that the quality of dental treatments seen on social media, with the exception of some, has declined due to mass production, and the technical and analytical abilities of the younger generation of dentists and dental technicians have declined. Fortunately, during my 30-year career mainly in North America, I have been able to run an in-house laboratory where I interact with patients and dentists every day for 17 years, and have been able to use my experience in the analog era and the early stages of digitalization to run a high-end dental laboratory business consisting of just my wife and myself for six years, despite being in a land isolated from the city of Arkansas, with both local and far-flung clients. On the day, I would like to share what parts of the clinical practice I actually perform that I pay attention to in order to meet the needs of patients and dentists, and what I think is the ideal image of a dental technician. In the fabrication of dental prostheses, numerous reference points required throughout the progress. When designing and constructing a prosthesis, we must care fully consider several key aspects-morphology, shade, function and establish clear criteria to guide our work.
These reference points may sometimes be of critical importance , easily overlooked, or even entirely disregarded. In this discussion, we aim to explore how to identify these essential reference points and to examine how the perspectives of dentists and dental technicians may differ in evaluating them.

In my lecture i examine the importance and understanding of the layering technique of a natural tooth; with this knowledge alone we can achieve success using the minimal layer technique, which elevates our aesthetics to a new level.

The term “Biomimetic” is derived from the combination of Bio (life) and Mimetic (imitation), referring to technologies that replicate the superior functions and structures found in nature and apply them to engineering and medical fields. When this concept is adapted to dentistry, it becomes Biomimetic Dentistry—an approach that seeks to restore teeth by mimicking their natural biomechanics and structure. With the remarkable advancement of adhesive dentistry, Biomimetic Dentistry continues to evolve, allowing more conservative and biologically harmonious restorations. In this presentation, I will introduce my clinical concept of Biomimetic Dentistry through both direct and indirect restorative procedures, emphasizing the integration of adhesive principles and the biomechanical behavior of natural teeth.

As is well known, the enamel of natural teeth possesses a remarkably beautiful opalescence. This effect is most clearly visible on the incisal edges of anterior teeth, which show no wear, but it can be confirmed throughout the entire enamel surface. The primary difference based on the presence or absence of the opalescence effect lies in the refractive index of light. Since we live our lives under various light sources, matching the refractive index to that of natural teeth is a critically important factor. By approximating reflected light, transmitted light, light diffusion, and the way light behaves, it becomes possible to create restorations with a more harmonious color tone for everyday life.
Dr. Makoto Yamamoto published papers on the opalescence effect in 1984 and 1989. I cannot hide my astonishment that such insights were reached over 30 years ago. I highly recommend reading these papers. OT+ and Geller Mix have been newly added to Creation. I would like to explore with you how to use these most effectively.
